International Yought Center

Our entry for the International Youth Centre logo contest. It was featured in an art exhibition after the winner was announced. Although it did not grab 1-st place we like how it turned out, so take a deeper look.

Logo Concept

We, as a society and individuals, believe that the present belongs to the youth and part of being young is improving every day. The vision for the logo of the International Youth Central is meant to represent simply, yet colourfully the purpose of the building and the relationship between it and the people who will bring it to life.
The origami represents our strive for learning daily by folding ourselves today, in order to improve for tomorrow.
And just as dragonflies transform into beautiful aviators, young people transform into amazing humans.
These are the two main symbols in this logo proposition, which inspires braveness to learn and transform into our always-improving future selves.

Logo grid

The sign of the logo is built in perspective with one focal point. А grid was used for its development, in which the height of the lowercase letters is 3x. A balance was found between the font line and the upper lengths. The distance there is x.
For the minimum space between other objects and the logo there is a gap of 3x on all its sides.

Colors used

Yellow is the colour of optimism. The warmth and light it radiates signifies a feeling of happiness and on a subconscious level it supplies positive energy. This effect is achieved thanks to the association of yellow with the sun, which years of cultural evolution have encoded in the human mind. Prolonged work in a predominantly yellow environment stimulates the centers of the brain that are responsible for confidence, inspiration and creativity.


