Sozopol
This was our entry for the “New tourist logo of Sozopol” contest. We won first place by capturing the essence of what makes this ancient town a beloved Bulgarian symbol. If you are interested in the details check them out below.

The golden ratio
Apart from nature, the existence of the golden ratio can be traced back to the first attempts of mankind to create art. That is why we applied the divine proportion – one of the most ancient and significant symbols of beauty in our proposal for the tourist logo of the town of Sozopol.

Symbolism
We chose three symbols that made Sozopol the ancient town we love today.
Firstly – the azure sky, which every visitor of the town can enjoy thanks to the traditionally clear weather in the area. The second one is part of the fortress wall, which watches over the high rocky shores of Sozopol. The last symbol, which we consider the most important one, is the connection of the citizens of Sozopol with the sea.

Bring the colour forth
The colour selection is based on various components.
Blue is the colour of the sky and the sea. The colour of creativity. It has a calming effect and is categorized with trust, loyalty, calmness, balance, purity.
The beige colour used for the wall is also reminiscent of the beautiful beaches of Sozopol. It also helps with concentration and contrasts with the other blue elements.
When we have to use the colorless logo (in greyscale), we use 20% black for the sky, 40% for the wall and 65% for the sea.

Pictograms
Our set of icons is designed to be as functional as possible. Each one adheres to the main ideas of the logo, and the additional elements are consistent with the possibility that the corresponding sign can be used for an animated logo or an interactive pin in a card.
